250 The Exorcist III (1990)

(Discussed during the Sequel-a-Thon)

249 All Is Lost (2013)

A lean survival story of one man versus the sea. In a way it's almost a version of Life of Pi that has been stripped of excess fat and sentiment. An antithesis to Gravity - there is almost no dialogue or inane chit chat. Without any kind of back story all that's left is an almost mute protagonist and his immediate situation. Robert Redford's grizzled performance allows for many great moments during his effort to stay alive as he discovers the limits of his sailing knowledge. The film also has lot of great photography with some beautiful underwater moments amongst all the harrowing disaster.
